India Blue Female and Chick

India Blue Female

Chestnut brown fan-shaped crest and head. The sides of head and throat are off white. Lower neck, upper back, and upper breast are metallic green which is more noticeable in light. The rest of the body and wings are dark brown. The abdomen is a pale buff. The beak and legs are gray. The female will begin to lay eggs at two years of age, but are not fully matured until the age of three.

India Blue Chick

Buff brown in color with upper parts and wings having a camouflage color. The abdomen and front of neck are a pale buff brown. At six months of age, the feathers in the neck of the male are beginning to turn blue. At one year, the entire neck and head are blue. At two years of age, the male's train may be half grown. At three years, the male's train is completely developed.
